Ikat Love

I love ikat. Don’t you?! It’s so gorgeous! I think it adds such a fun pop of color and pattern in any room whether its through draperies, pillows, or even upholstery. And although it’s super trendy right now, it is actually an ancient technique. True ikat fabrics are made by dying the threads before they are woven as opposed to printing or dying the post-woven fabric (ikat history lesson found here if you’re interested!) And that technique really makes for some beautiful patterns!

love this application!

it adds such a fun pop of interest here.

i like the idea to hang a panel of fabric as art like a tapestry, or even framing a section of it.

throw pillows are a great way to incorporate it into any room

And I’m excited about using this fabric in a project that resides near the top of our to-do list after we move in. It also involves a wood pallet, so get excited for that! After receiving a sample of this fabric, I can say that it is even more beautiful in person.

What do you think? Do you love it as much as I do or is there another pattern that you’re currently drooling over?
